Yearbook – Mugshots

For the portrait photos/mugshots, Karl developed a process based upon using squares to tie into the 'building blocks' idea we have been using in the book. Below is the process of manipulating the images:


The photo is turned into an image made up of a mini-squares, like a mosaic. This is done by converting the image to a bitmap in Photoshop using a square filter:


Below is the final image stage of the process, applying a checkered pattern to the bitmap image:

Black & White Versions:





As a group we prefer the black & white versions and will be using them over the colour ones in the final publication.
